Dec. 31 - Family Holiday Adventures

Well including "365" in my blog name was a bit ambitious. I don't think I will create a blog every day. My parents and sister Lynn are still with us in SF and we have been very busy with activities. BC made a game of the Emerald Bowl in the first half however USC's defense put the clamps on the Eagles in the second half and the Trojans won 24-13. It was pouring rain until kickoff and we stood in the bleachers behind the team benches. Great standing seats at the 50 yard line. We actually took off at the beginning of the 4th quarter to go to Cirque Du Soleil. I was impressed with the show especially the final act using a climbing wall the height of the big top and a huge trampoline. The acrobats looked as if they were defying gravity (see green guys on the above photo).

A friend Nancy told us about a great hike into the Southern end of Point Reyes National Seashore which started outside of Bolinas. We started in a grove of huge eucalyptus trees (see photo of my parents and sister Lynn standing next to the base of a tree) and then walked along the cliff edge above the coast. The hike then wound inland as we walked through a forest of spruce trees. We hiked about 2.5 miles
and stopped for lunch. Mom made some great sandos which we ate quickly as a storm started to come in. Kay, our meteorologist, thought it would start raining at 4:00 however it hit us 45 minutes early. (see picture of mom & dad on the coast portion of the trail)

After the Hike we drove through Bolinas which isn't more than 20 commercial buildings. I would love to go back and have a few drinks at Smiley's Scooner Saloon. We drove up route 1 about 45 minutes North of Tumalis to a restaurant called Nick's Cove which our friends Dan & Sally Dutton are partial owners of. We sat at the bar and had oyster and chowder. Order the local beer, Lagunitas, as it's brewed in the North Bay. They have their own cottages if you want to get away for the weekend. Check it out.

Last night we went to see Avatar in 3D. I really enjoyed it. I was concerned about watching an entire movie in 3D however I had no problems. I can see why this movie cost more than $100 million to make as we saw over 500 names listed in the credits as to all the folks who worked on the movie. Make sure you see it in 3D.

I have added a few links to my blog... something new for me. Sorry my photos are all over the place... I'm still trying to figure out how to place the photos in the right spot in my blog.

Happy New Year!

Dec. 26 - Second of the day

My blog has been created to follow family members. I have posted the "Check Out These" to see what the family is up to. Follow them if you like.

Dec. 26 - First Entry

It's the day after Christmas and my entire family is here in SF. Guido and Les are teaching us how to create a Blog. So far so good! This was set up to help mom and dad create their blog to post all of their travel stories to the world. Kay is also working on a professional blog. Me... I'm having fun expanding my knowledge of the Mac World by creating this blog. This first entry is a quick one as I have to continue the steps of creating the blog. The next class is "How to Edit Via iMovie". I'm looking forward to that.

Busy night tonight... Emerald Bowl - Lynn, Mom, Dad and I are going to AT&T Park to watch BC play the Trogans and then to Circ for a show.
